    Bruno Mars was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 8, 1985, with the birth name Peter Gene Hernandez. His family was very musical growing up, his father was a percussionist, and his mother was a singer. He got the nickname “Bruno” when he was a baby, and it stuck with him into adulthood. In Waikiki he would perform with his family when he was 4 years old. He and his family's act included and a vegas style theater, where he would impersonate Elvis Presley. At a young age he had a drumset, a piano, and a guitar and with growing up in a musical family learning to play then wasn’t as hard as they are for other people. He continued to perform with his family in his childhood. Bruno Mars went to Roosevelt high school, where he met a group of friends and formed a band called “The school boys”. After he graduate he decided to move to Los Angeles where his journey to fame would begin. When Bruno got to Los Angeles it wasn’t as easy as you would think, during his first years of moving he couldn’t make a breakthrough in the music industry. With the struggle he decided to start with writing songs, which he only started to do when he moved to LA. Eventually a friend of Bruno’s introduced him to Phillip Lawrence (a songwriter), who agreed to help Bruno, compose songs. When the songs were finished they recorded it, and presented it to a record label, and wanted their own artist to perform it. He was so broke and struggling that they just decided to sell the song, after that he put off…
