The ghosts curse Clarence for the actions he has done. For example, Clarence tells the keeper that Prince Edward, who he had helped kill, shrieked “Seize on him, furies. Take him unto torment.” (57). Richard receives a similar nightmare where the people he betrayed give him the curse of having a terrible death. Shakespeare uses metonymy very cleverly in this passage. This metonymy can be found in “I passed, methought, the melancholy flood, /With that sour ferryman which poets write of, /Unto the kingdom of perpetual night.” (45-47). The word “melancholy flood” is used to represent the river Styx and “that sour ferryman” is used to show that he was ferried by Charon. When Clarence says “Unto the kingdom of the perpetual night” (47), he is referring to going to hell. Shakespeare is referring to Greek mythology where Charon, an old man, ferries the deceased to Hades, the underworld for the good and bad, across river Styx. This metonymy is significant to the poetic nature of the text. This is because it adds euphony to this passage. This euphony allows the feeling of Clarence and his experience he had during his dream be conveyed effectively to the readers or the audience. This metonymy also gives insight into the character of Clarence. It describes the personality of Clarence because of his word choice. The readers get a sense that Clarence is a very poetic person and his choice of words are very elegant. One of the predominant themes in this passage is conscience and love.…

As a result, Pluto revolves around Charon and Charon revolves around Pluto. Charon and Pluto are almost like a double planet. There is one side of Pluto where you will never see Charon and one side where you will always see it. This is one of the most remarkable and unique things in the Solar System. It is a tourist site that people will not see elsewhere in the solar system. Experts never believed that beyond Neptune it was just Pluto. So, in 1992, they found a vast army of frozen bodies beyond…
UNIQUE FEATURES ON PLUTO One fact is that Pluto is really far away from Earth, so the information of Pluto can be acquired through telescopes from Earth is limited. Although Voyager 1 and voyager 2 are currently beyond Pluto, they were not designed to visit Pluto and they could but did not have a chance to fly by Pluto after finish their primary objectives. The New Horizon spacecraft was designed to visit Pluto and Charon in the first place, at the beginning of the New Horizon Mission, the Pluto…

are being stung by wasps and are bitten by horseflies. This is contrapasso because since the souls in this section of Hell had led a pointless life, they had a pointless task ; a second way this is contrapasso is that insects and bugs are seen as insignificant, so that is how the bugs and worms treated the souls. When the spirits are seen as being naked, that symbolizes them being stripped of any identity. The spirits on this level seem to be exhausted, bitter, angry, rowdy, disrespectful,…
The Vulcan Planum is a series of smooth planes with faint ridges and grooves. The southern region contains less craters than the northern region which scientists say indicates a wide scale of resurfacing. Some of the more recent pictures by New Horizons indicates a startling array of colors all over Pluto. Pictures continue to be sent in to NASA daily by New Horizons. A new scientific concept that I learned about is the Vulcan Planum. The Vulcan Planum is on Pluto. The Vulcan Planum includes…
