The Battle of Wanat took place on 13 July 2008 in the Village of Wanat which was located in Waygal District in the Nuristan Province in Afghanistan. During this battle NATO forces sent out sub-company-sized elements to disrupt the supply flow that was flowing to the Taliban from the Federally Administered Tribal Regions of Pakistan.
