reducing juvenile crime, but there are ways far more effective than adult trying and sentencing.      When considering the idea of trying and sentencing juveniles as adults, it is important to know exactly what these procedures may entail. Amnesty International, a human rights group, found that Juveniles are often subjected to physical and sexual abuses while in detention (World: Americas Amnesty Says US Jails Too Many Children). An environment like this is far too hostile and dangerous for children. Not only does this environment bring on more punishment than needed, it is a major violation of human rights. How would a sentence like that make any child a better person? If anything, it would have more of a negative effect. Good morning, Mrs. Forman and my fellow classmates, I am Trinity Thompson, as someone who has witnessed the negative effects of war on our country and has dealt with the consequence. America has been involved in many wars that we didn't need to encounter in. The Vietnam war being just one of them is my example of the problem. As one of the biggest countries in the world we should always stay neutral until the problem starts affecting us. In the past, countries other than America have…

Interpretive Paper 1 “Thou shall not kill” is a fundamental belief in today’s society, yet during times of war, breaking this commandment is not considered a sin. Instead it is a necessary action to properly serve and protect the country. However, when modern-day soldiers return from battle they generally do not discuss the details of the war to the public. Conversely, in the Iliad, as more people know about a hero’s war story, the more glory he attains. The Iliad’s depiction of war is complex.…

Leaders like Eisenhower recognized that these weapons shouldn’t be used in war, and this sentiment was echoed by scientists like Russell and Einstein, but public concern for the…

Emotionally, it was distressing because there were so many injured people to the point where it even caused frustration. Like when Scarlett had been helping out all day with the injured, and she had gotten tired of constantly seeing people hurt wherever she glanced. Many people did not come home to their families either, as the long list of names came into town of those who had…
