    Khaled Hosseini was born March 4, 1965 in Kabul, Afghanistan and lived there until he was five, when they moved to Iran. When he was eleven, his father got a job in Paris, France and they moved there. They never returned to Afghanistan due to the Saur Revolution and they sought political asylum in America. Hosseini graduated from Independent High School in San Jose, California. He attended Santa Clara University and got his bachelor’s degree in medicine, after that he attended University of California, Santa Barbara to complete his medical education.
