Ligt meer lateraal aan de radius en is opgebouwd uit 3 spierbuiken die via 1 gemeenschappelijke pees insereert. Hij loopt over de dorsolaterale zijde van de radius, carpaal gewricht en MCIII, geleidelijk naar dorsaal afbuigend ter hoogte van de voorzijde van het kootgewricht
