When would single line working be introduced? |
When 1 line of a double line becomes blocked, single line working by PILOTMAN allows trains to travel over the other line in either direction. |

The PILOTMAN must travel with you. Drivers responsibility to obtain permission from the signaller to gain access back to the main line. Or you may obey the position light if told to do so by the PILOTMAN. |

How many trains are allowed in the Single line section? |
Right Direction - If signalling working as normal, then the number of signals dictates the number of trains as per normal.
Wrong Direction - If large section, may be split up with intermediate handsignallers - must reach a clear understanding with the Pilotman. |

Get the authority of the PILOTMAN |
