“Normal” Desire: desire that was attracted to the opposite sex for the purpose of reproduction was considered ‘normal’. Individuals who possess ‘normal’ desire were considered normal, healthy, and fit for the nation. “Perverse” Desire: desire that served any other purpose than reproduction was considered perverse, unnatural, and dangerous. Those individuals were viewed as perverse, pathological, sinful, and deviant. There were defined a different kind of people, dangerous to themselves and to others and in need of control and policing by the nation. |
