Fair housing act of 1968 |
Prohibits discrimination in the sale or lease of residential property for protected classes. Race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, and national origin. |

Exemptions to federal fair housing act |
Single family homes - owner owns now more than 3 homes, no discriminatory ads used, no real estate broker used. Once every 24 months if the owner does not occupy the Home.
Law does not apply to rooms or 4 or less units. Owner must occupy one and same as above. |
