U - Class B, A, F Fires

O - PASS distance of 5m lasting 45 secs


M - inspect all components, if fails or even partially used send to zone station for exchange


S - wear appropriate PPE, Be aware of re-ignition if foam blanket disturbed

C - 9L water @700kpa, red, stainless steel cylinder, valve assembly


O - PASS - 6m for 1 minute


M - inspect all components, if failure or even partially used exchange at zone station

C - Drawn steel @5.2MPa, red with black band, valve assembly, non conducting director horn, safety valve operates @ 17.2MPa


O - PASS 1-2m for 15 seconds


M - inspect all components, exchange if fails check or even partly used


S - wear appropriate PPC, slight cooling effect, can re-ignite

W - Dry chemical extinguisher

U - A, B, E, C class fires


C - welded steel cylinder 9 kg mono ammonium phosphate/nitrogen, red with white band, valve assembly, nylon pvc hose with polypropylene applicator


O - PASS 3-4m for 20 seconds


M - isnpect all components, if fails or even partially used send to zone station for exchange


S - wear appropriate PPC

Rabbit Tool

U - forcible entry


C - hydraulic hand pump, small ram with stainles steel jaws, 4ton capacity, 1.8m re-inforced rubber hose, rubber mallet, pry bar


O - 2 person operation, teeth into door crack and pump hydraulic handle to open teeth


M - clean with damp cloth, check for leaks in hose and connections


S - correct PPC, 2 people, door may spring open, beware of kinks etc in hose, 4tonne pressure can penetrate skin

W - Standpipe

U - access water from street main via ground ball


C - go through all parts


O - shipping procedure


M - clean with damp cloth, check all parts for damage, fill in p798 if damaged and notify OIC


S - correct PPC, never place head and shoulders over standpipe

W - ceiling hook

U - remove ceilings, pierce ceilings to releive water buildup, remove overhead debris, forcible entry, overhaul


C - wooden handle and metal spur, bevelled edge for cutting


O - pierce, use bevelled edge to cut


M - clean with damp cloth, check for damage


S - PPC, falling debris, broken glass left in window fram

W - fuse puller

U - disconnect power supply to structure


C - rubber coated pole, 2 end piece adaptors, threaded holder and swing down box


O - procedure as taught


M - clean with damp cloth, check for damage


S - correct PPC with rubber electrical gloves, beware of water

W - TAC stick

U - detects presence of live AC, confirm and monitor that AC electricity has been isolated


C - sensor, setting switch, LED, handle, lanyard, beeper


O - twist to high sensitivity, will self test, then move around slowly to detect prescence, has high/low sensitivity and front focused


M - clean with soft cloth, never immerse in liquid, if dropped return to workshops, change of shift teat, batteries


S - correct PPC, treat all wires as live, auto/remote reclosures, alert to possibility of stored DC power

W - collapsible knapsack

U - A class fires


C - shoulder straps, hand pump, hose, 19L flexi-pack knapsack re-enforced pvc.


O - fill with water, wear as backpack, pump handle for single squirt


M - check integrity of knapsack, hoses and connectors for holes, splits and leaks


S - correct PPC, consider that you only have 19 litres

W - Blitzfire Monitor

U - rubbish tip fires, any long stationary positions


C - TFT head, pivoting inlet and outlet (20 degrees either side horizontal, 10 degrees to 50 degrees vertical) , folding legs with carbide tipped spike, valve handle with locking knob


O - ensure legs are unfolded, tie off, two people, two feeds into truck, two deliveries into monitor, pivot to desired position


M - wipe down with damp cloth, check all parts for damage, flush after use with foam


S - 1200kpa, 2 people, legs extended, tied off
