Don't forget Hazards of immobility!!!

Neutral rotation, decrease flexion, and other interventions

Decrease dislocation

Abduction pillow keeps bed in socket

Overhead trapeze helps pt position in and out of bed and promotes upper body strength

Firm mattress equals support

Isometric exercises help

increase venous return and maintain muscle tone

Trocanter rolls prevent external rotation and dislocation

Increase fluids because of increased dehydration from diuresis
