What is Gin?

Technically Gin is juniper flavored vodka

But the way in which distillers infuse flavors into the vodka base and botanics of choice is what separates gin from cheap industrial swill that is vodka. Lol

London Dry Gin

This Classification encompasses the vast majority of popular brands such as Beefeater, Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire. This gin style is drier than some of the older types (old Tom, genever) And features balanced bouquet of juniper and citrus.

Genever Gin

Viscous mouthfeel and flavors of malt and savory botanicals like lemon peel and fennel

Granddaddy of all gins made with at least 15% malt creating the richer mouthfeel.

Closer resemblance to whiskey

New Wave Gin

These gins put less emphasis on the juniper and more on other aromatics like floral botanicals and citrus such as Hendricks does with Cucumber. There is no legal classification with modern craft gin, but the stylistic similarities are enough for the gin classification.

Plymouth Gin

Tastes like: London Dry, but a bit sweeter and earthier

Unlike London Dry, which can be made anywhere, Plymouth Gin can only be produced in Plymouth England.

Beefeater London Dry Gin

100% Grain

47% ABV

Mellowed Higher proof Gin

Juniper Balanced with sweet spice and citrus notes not heavily herbal.

Tanqueray London Dry Gin

Affordable typically under $30

Juniper bright citrus and cracked pepper perfect for G&T but just as easily mixed in a negroni or a gimlet
