Belts

Fan, alternator, water pump and power steering. No cuts, no cracks or frays. No more than 3/4 of an inch of play. *Demonstrate*

Hoses

No cuts, no kinks and no leaks.

Alternator

All bolts and nuts present and tight. Wires are securely fastened and working properly.

Wiring

No cuts, no frays or broken wires and they are in proper loom.

Water pump

All bolts and nuts present and tight. No leaks and it is belt driven.

Air compressor

All bolts and nuts are present and tight. No leaks and it is gear driven.

Oil dipstick and filler tube

Check here daily and add here if necessary.

Power steering reservoir

No leaks, check daily and add if necessary. Hoses have no cuts, no kinks or leaks and clamps are tight.

Frame

No bends, no cracks or broken welds.

Shock absorber

All bolts and nuts are present and tight. No leaks and have good rubber.

Steering gear box and pump

All bolts and nuts present and tight. No leaks. Hoses have no cuts, kinks or leaks and clamps are tight.

Pitman arm, drag link, idler arm and tie rod

All bolts, nuts and cotter pins are present and tight and is properly lubed.

Spring hangers and mounts

All bolts and nuts are present and tight. No cracks or broken welds.

Leaf springs

No more than 25% missing or broken.

U-bolts

All bolts and nuts are present and tight. It helps keep the axle in alignment.

Brake hose

No cuts, no kinks or leaks.

Brake chamber

No leaks, no dents. All bolts, nuts and strap are present and tight.

Slack adjuster

Push rod is straight and not bent. Properly lubed and no more than 1 inch of play when the brakes are applied and it is 90 degrees angle.

Brake drum

No contamination and no cracks.

Brake pads

No contamination and no less than 1/4 inch of life left.

Wheel

Inside and outside has no cracks, no dents or welds.

Lug nuts

All present and tight. Rust or white powder will indicate looseness.

Hub Oiler

No leaks. All bolts and nuts are present and tight. Will check here and add if necessary.

Valve stem

Not touching or leaking. Will check with tire gauge and inflate to manufacturer’s specifications and replace dust cap.

Tire

Inside and outside have no cuts, no cracks, no bulges or leaks. Thread depth must be no less than 4/32 of an inch and must be new and evenly worn.

Air lines and glad hands

No cuts, no kinks or leak. Glad hands have good rubber and no leaks. Secured to tractor and trailer.

Electrical cord

Secured to tractor and trailer with no cuts, cracks and frays.

Apron

No broken welds or cracks.

Kingpin

Straight and not bent. Jaws locked around the shank.

Skid plate

Properly lubed, no daylight between apron and skid plate.

Locking arm

It is locked in placed.

Slider

Properly lubed. No missing or broken teeth while on locked position.

Platform and frame

All bolts and nuts are present and tight. No cracks, no broken welds and frame has no cracks or broken welds.
