What is the purpose of RMD?

To provide special ship control and causaulty control procedures for use when the ship experiences an engineering casualty in restricted manuevering situation.

Who does the RMD provide guidance to?

Watch standers on the bridge and in engineering.

When does a restricted manuevering situation occur?

In an environment where lost of propulsion, steering, or electrical power loss could immediately threaten the ships embarked aircraft, landing craft, or personnel.

In your own words what is RMD?

Engines and associated equipment will not be stopped in event of casualty. We will just keep going until failure of equipment.

Not authorized while RMD is in effect.
