What is dendrochronology? |
The dating of tree rings to indicate climate at certain points in time. Larger rings indicate warmth. |

Drawbacks of dendrochronology? |
•Developed in the US in 20th century. -Level of agreement with 2 trees needs to be at least 65% over 100 years. -Trees with higher water intake are less affected by climate change I.e by water -False rings occur if a tree loses branches. |

What is radiocarbon dating? |
Dating C14 from a half-life of 5578 years. |

What is AMS dating? |
•Counts all carbon samples(C12/13/14) in under an hour, used to date shell/bone. •13.6 disintegration’s per min per sample. |
