Provides arrival information, establishes the initial interval between aircraft and monitors the commencement of the approach. Aircraft is placed 21 nm behind ship at altitude of 6,000 feet.

Approach Control

Responsible for control of aircraft on approach during case 2 and case 3.

Final Control?

Ensures optimum alignment until transfer to LSO or aircraft reaches 3/4 mile. Responsible for control of aircraft glide slope and lineup performance and secondarily responsible for aircraft seperation

Case 1 weather

No lower than 3k feet and 5 nm

Case 2

No lower than 1k ft and 5 nm

Case 3

Below 1000 feet or 5 nm or 30 minutes before sunset or 30 minutes before sunrise.

CDC mission

Keep CO informed of overall tactical situation and recommended courses of actions.
