Document A and B -social hierarchy
Samurai: "According to doc. A" warriors who owed loyalty and military service to daimyos for land or regular payment.
Knights: warriors who owed loyalty and military service to lord for land.
Knights and Samurai showed loyalty to the lords and received payment and land. The daimyos were in the upper part of the pyramid above the Samurai and the Feudal lords were above the Knights.
Document C and D - "According to Doc.C" Both Samurai and Knights had very rigorous training that started at an early age. At 14 the boys became Samurai at a ceremony called Genpuku. Squires officially became Knights at 21. Samurai armor was made from small iron scales that were tied together. Knights armor was made from tiny metal rings.
Samurai and Knights trained very hard and for many years to become warriors. They also went through religious and moral instruction. Both Samurai and Knights wore heavy armor from head to toe.
Document E and F - "According to Doc. E" Samurai discharged loyal service to his master and devoted himself to duty. Knights took vows to do no wicked deed and to be loyal to the King. Chivalry was the code for medieval knights and bushido was the code for Samurai.
Knights and Samurai learned to obey their lord and lived honorable lives. They were loyal to their master and king.
