Lowenstein-Jensen (LJ) glycerol media |
Recommend medium for human type tubercle. Malachite green: inhibitory to organisms other than mycobacteria & also provide colour contrast to recognize colonise even when they are small. Glycerol enhance growth. The colonies of M. tuberculosis: rough, tough, buff to yellowish colour and luxuriant growth. |
