Engine GPU start Calls

“Turning 2”- 28v check, right start switch to ignition

“Rotation” - verify n1 rise and prop rotation

“IGNITION” - check light on

“Oil pressure rise” - verify rise

“Stabilized above 12%” - identify N1 above 12%

“FUEL FLOW” - condition lever moved to low idle

*count to 10* “ITT RISE” - verify

*during this period eyes should be watching ITT and N1. Abort: rapid rise through 800°C or N1 not reaching 50% within limitations. Anything above 925°C during start needs AML entry*

*count to 10* “ITT RISE”

“50% starter off”

“ITT rollback” - ITT decrease verify

*check engine instruments*

*signal GPU disconnect* - verified through EXT POWER annunciator

“Ignition” *verify light

“Oil pressure rise” *verify rise

“Stabilized above 12%” *verify at 12%*

*move condition lever to low idle*

“FUEL FLOW”

*count to 10* “ITT RISE”

*look at ITT and N1, look for ITT through 800 and N1 not reaching 50% within starter limits. If ITT hits 925 need an AML entry*

“50% starter off” *turn right starter off

“ITT roll back” *ITT should decrease*

*verify engine instruments and right prop out of feather*

*right Gen reaches 700 RPM, right condition lever to high idle*

*reaching 60% N1 reset and then on right generator*
