Skeletal Muscle

The skeletal muscle is primarily located near the skeleton and attached to bones. The structure of the skeletal muscle is striated, has a long cylindrical shape, and multiple nuclei in each cell. In addition, the movement of the muscle is voluntary.

Cardiac Muscle Tissue

The cardiac muscle is located on the heart. The structure of the cardiac muscle has branched ends and one nucleus per cell. Like the skeletal muscle, the cardiac muscle is striated too. However, the movement of the cardiac muscle is not voluntary.

3 Types of Muscular Tissue

Skeletal, Cardiac and Smooth

Smooth Muscle Tissue

Smooth muscle tissue is located near the walls of hollow organs. The structure of the smooth muscle has no striations, one nucleus per cell, and the ends of the cells are narrow. Like cardiac muscle, smooth muscle has involuntary control.
