Mechanical 1 |
The cartridge case is supported before, during and after firing by the bolt |
Mechanical 2 |
There is approx 20mm of free movement before the striker is withdrawn and the bolt assembly begins unlocking |
Mechanical 3 |
The trigger bar is not lined up with the tip of the sear until the bolt is fully locked |
Applied |
Safety catch on QCB gun blocks the trigger |
Additional 1 |
The cocking lever holds the striker extension in an over cocked position |
Additional 2 |
The release of the striker actually takes place when the recoiling parts are at their most forward position after the breech is locked |
Additional 3 |
If the striker protruded from the firing pin hole in the bolt face due to mechanical failure, the next round can't be fully fed into the'T' slot into the loading position |
Additional 4 |
The belt feed pawl prevents double feed |
Overheating |
The gun is air cooled to retard overheating. It's provided with a heavy barrel. Slots in the barrel support permit the circulation of air around the breech end of the barrel. |
Double Feed |
If the round positioned against the cartridge stop fails to be extracted from the belt, the belt feed pawl arm rides on top of the positioned round, holding the belt feed pawl arm and compressed the belt feed pawl spring. This prevents the belt feed pawl engaging the next round causing a double feed in the feed way as the bolt moves forward. |
Last Round |
The empty case is ejected by the tip of the ejector |
