• Safety o Evacuation Plan
When I asked fellow classmates about our evacuation plan for the animals; I was told how we are to just grab and go. I see this not only being stressful, but also hectic and chaos. This means we have filters, misters, foggers, lights, and machines running. What does that say? We have many cords plugged into a multi-surge protector that is placed into the wall. This room uses a lot of power not including two fridges, a shredder, protectors, and a computer desk set. There are many cords exposed, some underneath fish tanks, and especially with field mice, cords are being chewed on. If something were to go wrong, these cords could end up causing a fire to start. This has restricted a lot of what we were allowed to do without causing a problem. The school hates the class room for the odor, that we can kick up dust, dirt and saw dust; this room is used for construction of new exhibits. Why not fix the problem and give us a better air circulation?
o Animals in the same room o With animals being in the same room; being fed, pulled, and etc., this is not only noisy, but a distraction to many students who are trying to learn. This means that when work studies are working on animals, some students will be draw to the animal; even the teacher does it. The animals have no other place to be in this already cramped room. They make noise, banging and scratching, this causes students to turn and look; I have done it multiple times to a noise that is an animal. I become more focused on the animal than I do with my classwork.
o Limited o The space has maximum usage We no longer can take animals, have space to do projects, and we are cluttered with odd things. The space is usually not usual able for more than 3-4 people and that means it really isn’t function.
