Zephyr: The Environmental Effects Of Lightning Tornadoes

In the northwest sector of the Beetlejuice quadrant, on a planet called Zephyr, near a sprawling metropolis called Nova, during the afternoon of April 31, 3015, a rare lightning tornado wreaked havoc throughout the country-side. In order to understand the extent of the effects of a lightning tornado one must understand the makeup of such a monstrosity. A lightning tornado is an environmental phenomenon created under extraordinary atmospheric conditions. Zephyr’s global climate has a tendency to create unusually violent planet-wide thunderstorms. Instability can occur within these thunderstorms if hot and humid air develops in the lower atmosphere and cooler air develops in the higher atmosphere. This particular atmospheric instability is the platform for the formation of tornadoes on Zephyr. Extreme turbulence inside the thunderheads create an immense electrical charge. A lightning tornado is the result of an electrical current leaking into a developing funnel cloud. On that fateful April afternoon all of the conditions for a lightning tornado were met.
