Arguably the biggest event to happen in gaming in 2016 was the release of Pokémon Go, a mobile game bringing Pokémon onto smart phones. Pokémon Go is interesting because Nintendo was not the brains behind the game. Niantic is the main developer and has the most to gain from the success of the game from a profit perspective. However, the other two companies involved in the development of Pokémon Go were Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, which is partially owned by Nintendo. One interesting aspect to note is that the change in stock price Nintendo had during July of 2016.…

After reading your argument against Pokemon Go, I can say without doubt that I do agree with you. The distractions that this game contributes to society does not equate to the good it does. Distracted walking and driving would not contribute to behavioral activation but rather to accidents that results in hospital visits or deaths. Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of accidents, adding one more factor to that equation results in more accidents which outweighs the ability of Pokemon Go to contribute to health. Pokemon Go contributed to people being lured into secluded areas where they are robbed by armed robbers.…

Regardless of the television shows’ morality teachings, the Pokemon fights impact children to be fierce with others. For instance, in 1999, a 14-year-old kid was wounded by a 12-year-old kid for attempting to recover his younger sibling's stolen cards (Deacon and McClelland 2). This is a shameful case of the school grounds violence that Pokemon has conveyed to the world. There are numerous different examples that circumstances get somewhat crazy over Pokemon cards, however, a large portion of them wind up in infantile…

Pokemon Go enlightens the player about what is around them along with some history and background information about the place. In addition to exercise and knowledge, exploring new places accidentally lead to crime fighting. “Two veterans of the United States Marine Corps were out playing the game at a local park when they noticed a man harassing children and their mothers… When the police arrived, they identified the man as one they had been looking for for attempted murder,” (Pierson). The game put them in the right place, at the right time to catch a criminal rather than a Pokemon.
