During the Yuan Dynasty, there was a surplus of various arts and entertainment for the common populous. To begin, the Yuan Dynasty was a time of a painting and calligraphy revolution. During this period, painting became much more accessible. Once, it was mainly restricted to the professional end of the art. However, the literati began to start painting now and commenting on each other’s works, leading to the creation of the bulk of Yuan Dynasty painting. In addition, the Yuan Dynasty was the dawn of blue and white porcelain. The style consisted of white porcelain with a blue underglaze, which became extremely popular with western collectors.
