1. “To belong. It is important that we support each other, that we pray for each other, that we come together as people who have the same face. We need to love each other and then, as we learn to work together in a place of belonging and togetherness, we begin to see that it is important to listen to each other. You have ideas much better than mine, I may have some that are better than yours. We don’t have to be powerful; we don’t have to be right.”

2. The message of this quote, is that we are all created in the image of god, and because of this, to be truly happy, we all need to love each other as God's people. We are called to accept each other and work together to support each other.

3. A modern day example that explains this quote, is one of my friends who has an abusive and alcoholic mother and grew up with no dad. She went home everyday and got hit by her mother came to school with bruises for 15 years. Eventually in high school she was used to no one loving her so every time somebody tried she pushed them away. Eventually she joined a gang. And gets in fights. But never has she ever felt what love truly is, because her mom never truly loved her and she pushes everyone away because she knows she will never truly be happy.

I agree with this quote, because everyone needs a relationship no matter who they are, they need to feel safe, loved, and like they belong. All of us as catholics, have a duty to God, to accept and love each other to help each and every one of us what it feels like to belong. And we all should encourage each other to make the right Godly choices and to be all we can so that we can become successful beings. And we must listen to those trying to do God's will, because we all need to help each other become who god wants us to be and what he has planned for

    1) I liked how she starts her story with the emotional moment of the accident, that part made me feel dizzy and disorientated like her, at the beginning it was kind of hard to interpreted the text and what was happening at the time. The parts were the police were treating her like an animal really made me mad and I felt a little bit of impotence when hearing about how they waited so long to help her and they hurt her even more. I was actually disgusted but not surprised of the way the police treated her in the hospital, it was to be expected, besides she “killed” one of their own and on top of it she was a woman of color. I admire Assata greatly in this chapter, she is so brave and has a strong will of power, if I were in her place I would have cried and begged since the first punch to the stomach. I can connect the way they treated Assata during…

Journal # 1 Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad is a book I read for my University English class. People always say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but I am that one guy that does. When I first looked at the book to be completely honest, I thought it had something to do with witches or something really unrealistic. I know I have a wild imagination. The first couple of pages of the book got me hooked instantly, I loved how the book just starts and how the narrator gets right into his adventure as a young man into the Congo River.…

People who are escaping from the consumption of poverty, disease, or ignorance are clinging to the blissful civilization, where they can grow with success and peace. The Church understands that her duty is not only to be the house for God, but as a sanctuary to comfort any man or woman in need. Therefore, we all come from the same creator, God, which He creates us in His own image and likeness. Even though we look different, our hearts and soul remain the same because God has given us this gift. Benedict calls unto us stating that we are brothers and sisters, which means that when one of our brothers cries with pain, we greet them with the blessings upon our lives.…
