9/11 Reaction Paper

Great Essays
1) Question: Did the airports take any action after they received the news that the first plane crashed to stop the second plane? What did they do? How did it benefit the situation? If they didn’t, why didn’t they?
Reason: I had selected this question from all the other questions because the answer to this question would state the thoughts of people. For example, some people may have stood frozen in shock, while others were reacting quickly. Furthermore, from the individuals who watched the attack occur, there must be some people in the crowd who immediately thought the plane crash was a terrorist attack. If the satellite investigation facility had seen the plane heading towards the building, and then saw the second plane heading the same way, surely they mustn’t have thought it was a coincidence. This is important because this would bring attention to the actions they took to help prevent the other crashes.
2) Question: How was the video Osama bin Laden didn’t want to be discovered, discovered? What reactions came from the video? What did the video contain that he was very distraught of?
Reason: I had selected this question because it was one the critical pieces evidence that proved Osama bin Laden guilty, along with al-Qaeda and the Taliban. The information in the video is significant to finding who the person behind all of the deaths and the destroyed buildings. If the video wasn’t presented or discovered, then he would be able to cause more harm to the United States of America and the rest of the world. 3) Question: What did the President do while he wasn’t at the White House? How did his actions benefit the situation? If he didn’t do anything, was there something he wished he could have done? Reason: I had selected this question because the President is supposed to care for his country and everyone expects him to do something in order to comfort the victims. Furthermore, he was in a different state, so it would make it a bit difficult to do something, so I want to know what he would have done if he was at the White House. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) Question: Where did al-Qaeda get its financial support? Did the terrorist group receive it from the Taliban? What happened to their money after Osama bin Laden was killed? Reason: I selected this question because if al-Qaeda didn’t have any money, they wouldn’t have the supplies to perform their gigantic attack. If we were able to threaten the source of the money, then they wouldn 't be able to perform their devastating attack. 5) Question: What actions were performed in the World Trade Center that made them two of the most significant buildings in the United States of America? Reason: I selected this question because if the towers weren’t important, then it wouldn’t have affected the United States of America as much. If al-Qaeda had had crashed the two planes into two nearby homes, it wudn’t have caused as much panic in the country. The terrorist group wanted to make a large impact and bring fear to the country, thus creating a plane into the Twin Towers. PART B: What steps will you take to find your answers? Where are your best options to start? Example: A question regarding “flight” would take you to what type of website? 1) The first step I took in order to find the answer to this question is by searching up “9/11 planes departure time”.

From this I received websites that contained subheadings including numbers (times), “9/11”, and flight numbers. Then, I noticed a website that I use for most of my social studies projects: History.com. Since I knew that website had reliable information, I decided to utilize it for this assignment. Then, from the information I learned from History.com, I searched for “flight 11 and flight 17”. From there, I found a website that exhibited two maps of the route the two planes took, and were supposed to take. I decided on using that website for this assignment because it provided a visual detail for the answer to the question. 2) To find the answer to

All four of these planes stories are told in a timeline, “… Showing the simultaneous histories of the four hijacked airplanes as they began and completed their horrendous missions” (Hill and Wang 6).
