I loved baseball growing up and I found myself on multiple teams at a time. One of the Leagues I happened to be in was the Lafayette Little League. My brother and I played here for many years and umpired as well. When I was 12 years old, I was put on the Little League all-star team. Unlike the years before on the team, this year was special because we had an opportunity, which was very slim, to go the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Not many thought it to be possible. We would become famous for a short while, and even to think of such a thing was beyond our comprehension. It all began in the final state championship tournament game against Lake Charles, Louisiana. There has been a rivalry between us for many years. When we won this tournament, it didn't hit us until the next day when we realized that we would represent Louisiana for the Little League Regional Championship in Waco, Texas. This thought petrified us. We would face the best ball players in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arkansas. Being on ESPN made us anxious, but when we started to win one game after another, it took off some of the weight we felt. It came down to the final game against East Texas, where we won in the last inning by an inside the park home run by Cain Castille. This moment changed our lives
