Individuals participating in these services must be 18 years of age or older to take advantage of the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) programs. The AEL program is designed assistance adults in achieving academic and employment success that helps improve an individual’s educational and skill competencies. In addition, the program supports parents so they can become full partners in their children’s educational development, and assists in the completion with job training or secondary education. Program results show the individual fosters effective connections to employers and teachers, has ongoing adult mentoring opportunities, is provided with different opportunities for training and continued services, participation in activities related to leadership, citizenship, community service, and is offered incentives for recognition. The adults have access to counseling, tutoring, study skills training, instruction on how to compete secondary education, including dropout prevention strategies, and follow-up services after completion of participation in the
