Wonderopolis: Website Analysis

The first website I evaluated was titled Wonderopolis. I would say Wonderopolis is a reliable resource; the reason why I say this is because when you read the “about section”, you can notice right away all the awards and recognitions Wonderopolis has. This proves that it is a trusted and credible website. Wonderopolis was created in October 2010, and is still a functioning website. I not quite sure how I would use this website in my classroom but I do believe it is a credible website. It does seem confusing to use but the links work correctly and it achieves it intended purpose for those who choose to use it. The second website I evaluated is titled My Storybook. This website seemed like a creative idea for a website to me at first, but once I started to evaluate it, I noticed a couple flaws. When I tried looking for the about me section, all I found was the “contact” section. On the “contact” section, the only source it had available was their email; nowhere on the page was the author acknowledged. Another thing I …show more content…
When you first open up this website you’ll notice how well organized it looks. You can easily find the explorers, the author, and other information it provides. Even though you can see who the authors are and what qualification they have, there background isn’t really qualified enough to use their information. I like how honest they were about mentioning to not use their website as a reference for research. They did have the curtesy to provide links of websites they got their information from. As well put and reliable it might look, looking deep into this website you can tell it is not a credible
