Analysis Of Wonder By Stephen Chbosky

There comes a moment in many of our lives when we need to stand up for who we are. In the movie “Wonder” by Stephen Chbosky, the main character Auggie struggles fitting in with others because of the way he looks. Auggie's parents believe enrolling him in school will help him make new friends and learn how to show the world he can do anything with the right mindset. Throughout the beginning of the trailer Auggie struggles with these things but as time goes on he shows his schoolmates and parents that he is this great kid that can do whatever he strives to achieve. Each scene shows a variety of emotions which is conveyed through various color schemes. As the beginning of the trailer starts it shows happiness in Auggie's life and which is showed through smiles and bright background colors as well as bright colored clothing. But as the trailer continues sadness begins to appear. This sadness is seen through darker colors. As sad scenes start to approach a color difference is started to notice. Backgrounds begin to darken as well as clothing colors. By using different color schemes throughout the trailer it helps show the audience the real feelings of what is happening. Auggie becomes sad and happy many times throughout the trailer and without color distinction the trailer would not play the same effect on the audience.
The trailer did a very well job of giving enough information but not too much to give the movie away. Although it did a very well job the trailer could have not replayed some scenes twice throughout and made sure they were only played once. By playing them twice it was repetitive in something maybe that was not so important.
