Roles of Women During World War II The status of women has drastically changed pertaining to war throughout history. Women have played an important role in the armed forces. Without them, the help would have not been available to keep the others alive during combat and they would have not been as prepared. Women have gone from not being able to even serve in the armed forces to establishing their own groups and organizations such as the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) and becoming generals. They have also changed drastically from those times up until today. Women play a huge role in the armed forces now. They are now allowed to participate in combat and the age limit has changed. Women who have children and husbands may now join the military. The military is open for many different races. Without women, the needs during war would not have been met. Also, we would have fallen short and not have been so successful throughout the years pertaining to war.
