After this the next 8 years of his life were very hard for him. He became “A consultant on labour questions’ employed by John D. Rockefeller Jr. While he was working there he always showed potential putting his employer's needs and interests above anything and making sure his employer is happy. In 1916 W.L Mackenzie King was so worried about his appearance that it almost lead to a breakdown. He seeking psychological help and once he recovered he wanted to keep his name in politics so he ran in the upcoming election in 1917 in north york, ontario. Sadly Laurier had died in february of 1919 and a new leader had to be named. King was named the leader and he had to prove that he had what it takes. In 1921 King ran against the union government’s record and showed himself as a conciliator. That election the liberals took 116 seats and king had one. This shows that he is a good prime minister because even being beat by the conservative party in 1911 he still continued to proceed and never gave up with his political career and won the 1922
