William Lake Price was a photographer and a water color painter. He originally trained as an architectural and topographical artist where he exhibited at the Old Watercolor Society in London between the years of 1837 and 1857. His interest in photography started in the early 1850s. He also became popular for his sophisticated field of studies. Many of his photographic portraits were published in Portraits of Eminent British Artists in 1858. When he was an architectural and topographical artist he made views like the series at Osborne for the Royal Family in 1859.
