We've heard it before - red wine is good for your overall well-being. It stems from grapes, and grapes are fruit, so with that logic, wine has to be healthy. Right?
Yes. There is now scientific evidence suggesting that, when consumed in moderation, (defined as up to one four-ounce glass per day for women and up to two four-ounce glasses per day for men, according to the American Heart Association) red wine has significant health benefits besides just helping you de-stress after a long day at work.

Research has been found stating that wine contains an abundant amount of flavonoid antioxidants, which may be why participants in this study who drank more than 14 glasses of wine per week were 40 percent less likely to catch a cold.

4. Boosts Memory
A study was conducted on memory improvement and resveratrol, (an antioxidant found in red wine) in which half of the participants took a resveratrol supplement while the other half took a placebo daily for six months. When brought in for tests, those who had taken the resveratrol supplement were able to remember more words on a list that they had seen 30 minutes prior compared to those who had taken the placebo.
