Why Is Shrek An Archetypal Hero

He lives in a swamp as an ogre. He has colored skin, a rounded belly, and a look that frightens any human that sets eyes on him. Most individuals love to socialize and make friends but not this one. So how could an ogre be a hero? What could make this ogre that is known to be cold hearted have the slightest kindness to take this quest? This is not any normal adventure, this is one that is only made for the brave. Even though he is a beast with a scary appearance, Shrek is an Archetypal Hero because he sets out on an adventure to rescue the Princess Fiona.

Shrek lives in a swamp alone. Known to be a scary green monster and terrifies anyone who tries to challenge him. He loves his privacy and doesn’t like being bothered. He starts his day off by taking a shower with swamp mud and brushing his teeth with the goo …show more content…
The whole time Princess Fiona was only complimenting Shrek. Shrek realizes that he has misunderstood and sets on another call to adventure by stopping the wedding before it is too late. Shrek is worried there might not be enough time. Luckily the donkey has made the dragon fall in love with him. Donkey calls the dragon where they ride toward the castle of Lord Farquaad. Shrek runs into the castle in time and interrupts the wedding. Princess Fiona and the Lord Farquaad stand there in shock. Shrek explains how much he loves the Princess. Princess Fiona tells shrek she has something to show him. She changes into an ogre. Lord Farquaad laughs with anger and sends knights to kill shrek and capture Princess Fiona. The dragon crashes inside the castle and eats Lord Farquaad. Shrek and Princess Fiona then kiss and the curse is broken. Princess Fiona remains as an ogre and shrek tells her she is still beautiful. They both go back to Shrek’s home where they get married and celebrate with a party. They both go out for their honeymoon. Shrek and Princess Fiona live ugly ever
