Human Trafficking Prevention & Black History Month
Do you think where your family comes from is important? With heritage months and commemorative months, many people all around the world learn about their roots and become more aware of the situations that take place. With this new knowledge, one may learn more about themselves. Heritage is something in the world that makes you unique. These months do not only benefit those of the same heritage, but it grants people with the ability to understand others. Also grants people the ability to change preconceived notions, and help others become more aware of the issues in society. The public needs to know the importance of the month of January and February, which are human trafficking prevention month and black history month. Human Trafficking is the use of force to control someone and to have them be exploited by others. It was not until 1976 that Black History Month was expanded to a month. Black History Month is an opportunity to understand the truth of many misrepresentations, misunderstandings, and the fabricated comments about African American culture. Black History month develops opportunities for open dialogues between people who live through slavery. As society listens to these stories, society better respects the turmoil Black’s have overcome. After all the turmoil and horrors now the black community is able to look up and see one of their own as president. The United States would not be able to advance in many ways without the achievements of Blacks. Without Black History Month many people would lose insight on the contributions of Blacks if this happens it will distinguish the Black
