Knowing that I can spark at least a bit of hope in a student’s life gives me desire to keep on striving into what I want to achieve. I love helping everyone around me with any way I can. I have gone through some troubled times, some like others but also some unique, that have allowed me to understand and help others in the best way possible. For example, my mother came from Mexico when she was 7 months pregnant with me. My biological father had abandoned her, so to provide a better life for her soon to be three children, she came here. As my siblings and I grew up, we went through several troubles due to only having my mother. Although my mother remarried when I was the age of five, it was very difficult because he did not provide the encouragement I needed for during my education to strive. Around the same time, my older sister got diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis which lasted for about four years. My family and I were in and out of hospitals and struggling to pay simple bills. Although it was a very difficult time for my family, my mother always told me that no matter what, always dream big because our God is big.
