I am interested in attending the Elmhurst College STEM Academy because I believe that it would help me both get a better understanding of college life, and whether or not I would like to pursue a STEM career. At this time, I’m interested in majoring in either psychology with a focus in behavioral neuroscience, or either astrophysics or astrobiology and I’d like to be able to do research in the respective field I decide to go into. I have always thoroughly enjoyed both mathematics and science, which is why I’m considering pursuing a STEM career and participating in this summer program. I would like to advance my knowledge of algebra, biology, and chemistry through this program, and also further my understanding of physics, technology, and engineering.

Essay - To be honest, when I was in Middle School, I never knew much about the idea of FCCLA. I knew it was a part of the High School, if you wished to join; however, I did not know what being an FCCLA member meant. I was oblivious to the toilsome work and determination needed to acquire success and fulfillment within the organization, although I now see why it is held up to such a high standard, as it should be. Those who find themselves with enough dedication to push through the local events and into being a Region and State Competitor or officer, until they reach National qualification, are right to be held at a great regard. I may not remember many specifics of my life in the early days of being in FCCLA, but one thing I do remember…
