It is both a rare and marvelous phenomenon when a person is able to assert that they have not only found their passion in life, but are capable of establishing a career out of that same passion. I am one of the providential individuals who have experienced this. I have been irrefutably certain of my passion for the field of speech-language pathology for many years, and as I find myself at the conclusion of undergraduate career, I can proudly state that my fervor has only continued to grow. While there may be many other individuals parallel to me, I wholeheartedly believe that my enthusiasm for the field, willingness to succeed, and resourceful intellect make me an unassailable candidate for a place in your Masters of Speech-Language Pathology program at Nazareth College.

I will admit that at the time, I wasn’t entirely sure of the job description of an SLP. I thought that they worked in elementary schools to help children who stuttered or had a lisp. However, I quickly learned that this fantastic career field involves so much more. Within the first couple clients, I finally felt something click: that meaningful sense of knowing that I had always been told to wait for, but had never experience myself. It was as if I was finally on the cusp of finding my purpose in life, and the feeling was irreplaceable. Through subsequent observation and research, I knew that in practicing as a speech-language pathologist, I could satisfy my eagerness to learn a stimulating discipline, while simultaneously fulfilling my need to interact with children.
