In addition, my future aspiration is to get a bachelor in nursing because I believe it offers eloquent and rewarding career opportunities and eventually make a massive difference in people’s lives. This foreign substance left me with collapse leaving me a very slim chance of living, but because of my amazing doctors, I survived. I was put on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, or a heart lung by-pass machine, for a week to restore my lungs causing me to stay in the hospital for almost two months to recover. With the help on my intelligent doctors who tried everything to save me, I wouldn’t be where I am today.…

Mostly, I want to do something which I’m proud of and will make a true difference to people. Throughout my career, I have heard about the “nursing shortage”, but I was not aware of the impact on the future, as I now know. Working most of my career in the hospital, I was not aware that nursing educators were subjected to the similar budget cuts as hospital nurses witnessed. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (2017) wrote, “budget constraints, an aging faculty, and increasing job competition from clinical sites have contributed to this crisis” (pg. 1). Through the years, many have encouraged me to further my education because of what opportunities that doing so would provide me. I was satisfied with what I was doing, so the pursuit of a higher degree was not a priority to me.…
