These actions were validated because Russia was trying to eventually take control of all of Europe, Stalin was attempting to control of of Germany and take many reparations and gain even more power, and Russia closed off their part of Germany to try to make it so they would have a longer lasting influence in Germany and all of Europe. He also began to get puppet communist leaders elected in many countries to make a buffer zone between Russia and the Democratic European countries. Stalin was a dictator who attempted to take control of many areas and would not treat the people of the places he took over. If Stalin had taken over those areas, he would have eventually been able to take over the rest of Europe and it would eventually lead to a war that actually had many casualties. Stalin also had a system of spies within the US that gave him insight to significant information such as the atomic bomb. Truman also tried to help rebuild a strong, fair German government by reforming it after they had removed most Nazi influence and Russia would not do the same. Russia also tried to block the formation of the Federal Republic of Germany by blocking entry to West Berlin. In response to this, Truman airlifted supplies for the people of West Berlin, and he made certain their would not be a war over the blockade by keeping control of regular and atomic weapons and not giving the
