According to ForaTv, “When he went to church but when the minister complained that he was not taking communion he decided to not attend church. He also did not kneel befoe Jesus or called upon a minister at the time of his death” (qtd. in ForaTv). He was one of the presidents and founding fathers who was not a christians on the contrar he was a deist. Like George Washington there were other founding fathers that there deist to such as : Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Bejamin Franklin and Thomas Paine. Several people declare that we had founding fathers that were indeed Christians, but they were not as important or influential in this time period as this were. Our third president which was Thomas Jefferson was a logical man. He was one of the most extremist deist at the time. In the Jefferson bible, “…[he] left out the miracles and any suggestion that Jesus is God. The virgin birth is gone. So is Jesus walkign on water, multiplying the loaves and fishes and raising lazarus from the dead…There is no resurrection, no Easter Sunday…”(Carlson , par.6). According to Rachel Lubbe he was a deist and believed, “philosophy of reason that has been set forth and… he expresses his enlightment view” (qtd. in Lubbe).
