Who Is To Blame For Romeo And Juliet's Death Essay

The Nurse was an actual caring “mother” rather than Juliet’s mother whom would’ve let her killed herself if she didn’t marry Paris. Juliet was simply put, in love with Romeo, a Montague and her parents did not like because they want her to marry Paris. As the Nurse wanted her to be happy with Romeo rather than be miserable without him and forced to marry Paris. If the Nurse wasn’t around Juliet would’ve killed herself as she would be miserable living with someone and being married to someone she didn’t love. If Juliet’s mother actually would’ve cared for her daughter the play would’ve progressed much more differently as she did in the first few acts but changed throughout the play. All though some of the blame is on Lord Capulet, she could have at least stood up for her daughter and told her she wouldn’t be banished if she didn’t marry Paris. I think what sparked her cold-hearted ways was Lord Capulet, because of the fight she got into with her and Juliet. …show more content…
Although most blame Friar Laurence for the death of Romeo and Juliet, I much rather blame it on the messenger, because he didn’t even ask what was going on. He was a really good father figure for Romeo as he was a priest of a catholic church. He even stopped Juliet from killing herself when she was close to it just for Romeo to be with her even though her father refused for such a thing to happen. If Romeo would’ve been a little more careful he wouldn’t have been banished say for instance he didn’t kill Tybalt for vengeance but let him be so he could be with Juliet. Once again Friar Laurence comes in with a great plan that failed horribly in the end, as he was blamed for the death of Romeo and Juliet. But he did indeed try his best to let the messenger

When a situation does not go according to plan, someone is always to be blamed. In William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet is partially to blame for the tragedy due to his inconsideration of his daughter’s opinions and feelings, however Friar Laurence takes most of the blame because of his failed plan to reunite the couple and his well-intentioned, but disastrous decision to marry them in the first place. Lord Capulet, although formally wanting Juliet’s consent to marry Paris, now threatens to disown her if she refuses. He expresses his disappointment and rage towards Juliet by furiously stating, “I tell thee what-get thee to church a’ Thursday Or never after look me in the face. Speak not, reply not, do not answer me” (III.v.162-164).…
