How Antoine Thomas came forward and spoke the truth. The guilt of his sister not being able to get published on a newspaper because he played on the football team at Lake Windsor while he lived in Tangerine. Along with other reasons of course, like betraying both Tangerine and Lake Windsor. But now Shandra doesn’t have to hide it anymore, she can be on newspapers without the need to hide. Both siblings can now have a bit more freedom with their success in sports. This proves that because Antoine chose to tell the truth, both him and his sister do not have to carry the burden of keeping their identities down.
To me the quote “the truth shall set you free” means that once you tell the truth, and the guilt is removed, then your conscience is cleared. You don’t feel that weight holding you down anymore, the guilt that’s eating you alive. Instead you can feel free again without the chains holding you back. Like Paul, Erik, and Antoine let the lies go and the truth free, I did too. Where do you get in life by lying, vandalizing, jail, and etc. so let it go and let it
