Kuzner is explaining that Milton’s publics are a conception of his republicanism. I believe that Habermas's works relates to the traditions of the Enlightenment and of democratic socialism through his direct attention to the potential of transforming the world and becoming a more humane, just, and democratic society through the discovery of the human potential for reason, somewhat through ethics discussion. Milton addresses how, “all is not lost, the unconquerable will, and study of revenge, immortal hate, and the courage never to submit or yield” (Milton 214). Milton is introducing how much potential humans have for becoming more equitable and how we will never give up in the fight against evil. Milton also discusses how, “the mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven..” (Milton 135), showing humans true ability to become more rationalized and how in control we are with the way we think and perform
