It all starts the day she was born when her father found out she wasn’t a son. Her father, King Lasus, was devastated when he found out Atlanta was a daughter because he wanted a son. He then took the infant Atalanta into the woods and left her to die there. Though greekmythology.com said, that a “she-bear” came to her and she adopted her. Her and the other bears raised Atalanta to be the best huntress in the land, she was also one of the fastest. Atalanta became one of the heros when 2 centaurs came and tried to brutally attack her, and she was able to kill them both with her abilities. When her father heard of this event he instantly accepted her back because he wanted a warrior and he got one. When Atalanta returned her father wanted to play the father role and find her a husband. But this is not what Atalanta truly wanted, though she agreed to marry if a man could beat her at a photo race. Many tried and almost all failed, except for Melanion. He tricked her during their race, he laid down golden apples and Atalanta couldn’t resist the temptation to stop and look at them. There are a couple versions to this part. One is Atalanta didn’t know it was him who laid them down and he was able to sneak past her just enough to win and they were married. The other version was that Atalanta was very impressed with what he came up with and she let him win and they lived “Happily Ever After”. Both of the versions end with Melanion beating
