Pete took a swig of booze from a buffalo skin canteen, grabbed the poor woman by the arm, and began pulling her towards their horses. Then the other man, Alamo Jack, hopped off of his horse and started toward the town bank. Alamo Jack was another infamous outlaw, even more so than his companion, and was known for violent bank robberies across the country. Tom was just about to step outside to stop the outlaws when he noticed the lever-action rifle slung over Jack’s shoulder. About the time that Tom noticed it, Jack took the gun off of his shoulder and fired a couple of rounds just above the bank and into the Texas sky.
