Where Are The Three Songs Considered As Good Music?

Improved Essays
The three songs that were listed online by Bright Eyes, are supposed to be claimed as “good” or “bad” music by listeners. I personally classify all three songs as “good” music because the artists, Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, and Nate Walcott, have great voices and they sing about matters and things that are important to them. In each of the songs, the Bright Eyes artists talk about different topics that convey different messages, such as love for example. In all three of the songs, the artists all exhibit their great and impressive voices, together.
At first, I did not think that I would like these three songs. As I started listening to them, my opinion changed very quickly. The tunes are very slow- paced, relaxing, and calm, giving me the opportunity to really enjoy them. All three of the songs, “Land Locked Blues”, “Contrast and compare”, and “Waste of Paint”, are well-written and they contain interesting lyrics. Not only are the lyrics of the songs well-written and

As a tune that is right under six minutes, this song proves itself to be one of my favorite songs on the album. The chord structure of the song is beautiful and the vocals are very emotional. The song keeps building until a trumpet solo, of about 4 minutes in, and then, of course, there are more amazing lyrics by Conor Oberst. The two singers sing the same exact words throughout the whole entire song. I think that in the song “Land Locked Blues”, the lyrics are well-written and the voices of the singers’ also blend very well together with the background music. The two singers, sing the same exact words throughout the whole entire song. The young man’s voice is definitely more prominent than the young woman’s voice though. The young woman in the song, sings a little bit more softer than the young man. I believe that this is why the young man’s voice is a bit louder in the

I think that this song was very different from the songs we listened to in class, which was kind of neat. There wasn’t a clear rhythm of sorts to this song. I felt like a lot of different things were going on and each instrument had their own parts going on. However, it all flowed together really well. The saxophone(s) and piano played most of the choruses, and each had their own little part of a solo.…

First song I am going to describe is “Supper Time”. This songs melody was very upbeat. However, there are certain songs on the album that are not well done. Jimmy Fallon’s cover on You’ll Be Back, is grotesque when Fallon attempts to sing the high notes well. Wiz Khalifa’s Washingtons By Your Side is a bit weird and his use of electronic music does not fit very well into the melody at times. The overall album does have great transitions between each song.…

Some of the weaker songs on this album are Stronger and Drunk and Hot Girls. Although Stronger is one of Kanye’s most popular songs, having over 1 billion streams, the song is extremely overplayed for what it’s worth in my opinion. The beat and sample used are pretty good, but other than that, the song isn’t that strong. Drunk and Hot Girls is generally agreed upon to be the worst song on the album. Other than that, every other song on the album is pretty strong.…

I loved the serious parts of the song contrasted with the lighter, more joyous, hopeful parts, and the depth that the voices added to the layers of tones in the orchestra. The timing was sweeter to my ears than the other pieces, and I had no trouble at all understanding the correlation between the music and the words (once I found a translation). In "The Mountain Whippoorwill" by Jess Turner, however, while I sincerely enjoyed the percussion section near the end of the song, it was a difficult piece for me to understand and research, and by far my least favorite of the…

With the beat set by the drums and the piano comping during the beginning of the solo, expert plucking and intense bow play show the bass’s wide-ranging capabilities. I love the energy, focus, and enthusiasm the bassist shows by contorting his face. In order to close the song, the clarinet, trombone, and trumpet come in during the last thirty seconds. This song was truly enjoyable, both from a visual and sound perspective. Because of the over eight minutes of pure bass play, I felt that the musician was really able to explore the instrument.…

These songs initiated a new style of music in the United States that centered on the mockery of African American during the time slavery. It led whites in believing that blacks were naturally lazy and inferior, suppressing them in society. There were so many racisms that hidden within the songs, yet people enjoyed it. I don’t understand how the dehumanization of African Americans could be so socially accepted. People saw something in black men that made them recognize their form of music and culture.…
