The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet The death of Romeo and Juliet was tragic, and could have been prevented. The author of Romeo and Juliet is William Shakespeare. The play's name is The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Some of the main characters are Romeo, Juliet, The Capulets, the Montages, and Friar Laurence. The main characters that had the most influence on Romeo and Juliet's death were the families, Romeo and the Friar. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a play about teenagers trying to make their relationship work but, they hit some bumps on the road. First the Capulets and the montague influenced the death of Romeo and Juliet. The families could not get along because of a feud from many generations ago. A quote that supports my strongest point is on and the quote is “O Romeo Romeo! Where for art thou romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; or, or if thou will not, be but sworn my love, and i'll no longer be a Capulet”(2.3.65-80). In that quote juliet is wishing that she was no longer a Capulet and was a Montague so she could be with her romeo. This quote improves the thesis because it shows that maybe if there families got along then maybe the couple would not have been so reckless. Hopefully, it is more clear how the families were one of the biggest rolls on Romeo and Juliet's deaths. Next in line for the most responsible for Romeo and Juliet's deaths is romeo himself, for letting his eyes and not his gut decide if he actually loved Juliet. The Friar talks to romeo and his poor decisions about how he loved rosaline and was so heart broken, than he goes to one dance and sees one cute girl and is immediately over rosaline. the Friar tells Romeo “ Is Rosaline, whom thou didst love so dear,/So soon forsaken? Young men’s love then lies/Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes”(2.3.65-80). when the friar and romeo are speaking the friar talks to Romeo about Juliet and the poor decisions he made. This supports the thesis because it shows if he would not have done some of the things he did he would still be alive. Some of the poor decisions he made were fighting Tybalt, he also married juliet a day after they met. Hopefully you can see how romeo is not the greatest a decision making.
